HTC Windows 8 Phone Coming to on November 15

Several days have passed since Microsoft officially launched the Windows Phone 8 and the first devices powered by the mobile operating system have yet to make their way onto the market.

Although Nokia announced a few days ago that it had started shipping the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 smartphones in selected countries, these are still far from being available globally.

Taiwanese handset maker HTC will be releasing two Windows Phone 8 handsets, the 8X and 8S. Both are expected to arrive on the market this month, but they will be rolled out globally in waves.

This means that some countries will get HTC's Windows Phone 8 devices first, while others are likely to receive it later this year.

Canada is among the first countries to introduce the HTC Windows Phone 8X. According to a Bell internal document published by the guys over at MobileSyrup, the 8X is expected to hit shelves on November 15.

This would be Bell's “first Windows Phone 8 superphone,” which means any other Windows Phone 8 handset the carrier plans to launch, will be released after November 15.

Previously known as HTC Accord, the 8X is the company's Windows Phone 8 flagship smartphone, so expect it to come with pretty interesting features.

HTC 8X comes packed with a dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, which is built on Krait architecture.

In addition, the smartphone embeds an Adreno 225 graphics processing unit, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

Unfortunately, the device lacks microSD card slot for memory expansion, so users are limited with the storage offered by default and the 7GB free cloud space via SkyDrive.

Last but not least, HTC 8X boasts a 4.3-inch Super LCD2 capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution, and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.
